George Lee

Bassist George W. Lee was born in Dayton Ohio. He received his first musical training in Toronto, Ontario. He later studied music at Berklee in Boston, Massachusetts, Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, and Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. He plays with many of the best musicians in Cleveland and enjoys playing all styles of music.

George frequently travels to surrounding states and Canada to play with numerous and well-established Jazz combos. He was the regular bass player, just as talented on the electric bass as he is on the double bass, at Trinity Cathedral in the “Mostly Jazz Mass” for some 20 years. He currently gigs with Gateway Band in the Cleveland area along with his busy schedule of other jazz performances.
