
Jenny Cochran

Jennifer Cochran is a distinguished vocalist, flutist, music director, and educator with a career spanning opera, musical theater, jazz, and sacred music. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in vocal music, with a secondary focus in theater and flute, from the Cleveland Institute of Music and Case Western Reserve University. Currently, Jennifer serves as Director of Music Ministry at Good Shepherd Christian Church, where she leads vocal and bell ensembles, fostering a vibrant and inclusive musical community. She previously directed music at Medina United Church of Christ, Congregational and spent 40 years as Associate Director, Musical Liturgist, and Soloist at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
Her performance career includes leading roles in the Ohio premieres of Ligeia and Regina, as well as Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music. She has appeared in shows at Cain Park, Cleveland Opera, Tri-C West, and Eldred Theater. She has been a soloist at renowned venues such as St. George’s Cathedral in Edinburgh, St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, St. John the Divine in NYC, St. Barnabus in Cape Cod, and numerous churches and secular venues in the greater Cleveland area. Jennifer was honored with an invitation to sing at The White House and was recognized in 2012 as a Savannah American Traditions Vocal Competition prizewinner. As an arts educator, she has taught music and theater at Trinity High School, Hathaway Brown School, and the Cuyahoga Board of Developmental Disabilities. Through her current position at the Beck Center for the Arts, she specializes in adaptive theater and choir for students with disabilities in Lakewood schools and visually impaired adults at the Cleveland Sight Center. Jennifer also performs as a flutist as one of the lobby instrumentalists at Playhouse Square’s Connor Palace Theater.
